@Doug: This was a winter solstice celebration on a bitterly cold night. So cold a lot of the brass playing musicians called off their participation. I'll return again this year for more. Thanks for looking, Doug. @l'angevine: Merci. @Stephen: Her back is turned here as she dances and spins away, but the flame trajectory continues through the shutter. I love cameras! So awesome to be able to see beyond what the actual moment provides our senses. Many thanks, Stephen. @Olivier Paillet: Thank you, Olivier :-) @Phil: Thanks, Phil. I love your shot for today. @Phil Morris: Yeah, I like your riff on it! Thanks for the compliment, always. And... watch the skies! @Anthony Morgan Lambert: Glad you like it, and thanks! @Martine: Merci ! :-)) @Williams: I love that word, "torrent", and maybe it's because this city is in dire need of a good one to cool it all down. Man, it's scorching today! Cheers, Paul. @Jason Politte: There is a wonderful sense of joy and community at these December solstice gatherings. Thanks a bunch, Jason. @Joyce: I was still very much the DSLR rookie for this solstice celebration, and want to go back again with the added know-how to make better images of this kind of thing. Thanks, J. @Josh: Cheers, Josh. @Slackwater - Don: She was twirling a flaming baton and I left the shutter open for a second or so. Thanks, Don. @mosleh: Kind of you; thanks. @Sue-Ann: It's real; just a few seconds of drag on the exposure time to get the flame to extend as the fire dancer twirled around, and focus on the flame only, plus the movement of my camera made everyone around a little blurry which really added to the focal point being that looping baton of fire. Lots of fun to play with cameras! This was a few winters ago in Kensington Market where they celebrate the December solstice. Thanks for the comment! @franz: Just the Elementals! ;-) - thanks, sir franz ! @Phil Morris: I can't believe Toronto likes to call itself a world class city, and we don't have an annual Richard Pryor Marathon Run :( !!! (Silly Tuesday knows no boundary, buddy!) @Steven: Thanks ! @Phil Morris: Yeah, I remember that incident, and I also wouldn't be surprised by anything that people en masse would be capable of! They'd need fire department supervision, I suppose, putting out flames the minute they start and ruining the event! @Baldwin VW: Thanks very much :-) @Irene: Thanks a lot, Irene. @RBL: That low sodium city lighting adds a nice nighttime ambiance on nights like the one shown above. Thanks a lot for dropping by to take a look. @Denny Jump Photo: Awww, you generous dude, you ! Thanks for the so kind words, buddy. Hope you're staying cool in this blast furnace of a day. @Judy aka L@dybug: We get plenty of very hot and humid summer days every year, but this Summer is off to a crazy start, and more seriously we are a city in shock over some disgusting public shootings that have been happening. All the Canadian cliches are melting away this year! Thanks for the kind reaction to the pic, Judy. I'm here waiting for storms to arrive... maybe some more wild lightning photos in the near future. @john4jack: :-)) @Ralph Jones: ha ha... I like that comment :-) @grouser: Is that a UK metal band? ;-) @omid: Thanks, omid. I like your shot for today. @Martine: :-) Your enthusiasm is as great as your photos! Thanks, Martine. @Denny Jump Photo: Ha! I have no idea how those lovely nods are decided, but of course it's always a treat when there are so many kick-a** photographers in this Am3 community. Thanks, pal. @Denny Jump Photo: You rock, buddy. @Laurette: Very nice of you, Laurette; thanks! @Baldwin VW: Thank you for the nice congrats! @Denise: Thanks very much, Denise. @john4jack: Very nice of you, Jack : thanks! @Elaine Hancock: I appreciate the nice comment, Elaine : thank you! @Stephen: Thanks! @cecile duflot: Thank you. @Thea: Cheers, Thea :) @Florence: Thank you, dear! @Aubélia: Thank you :) @Sue-Ann: Thank you, Sue-Ann. @☺ ► ƸɼiϾ ◄ ☼: Thanks very much. @Enzo: Merci beaucoup, Enzo ! @Josep: I would happily trade this shot for one of a dragon belching fire :-)) - thanks, Josep. @Saeed Rasoulof: Very nice of you. My thanks. @Mehdi Monadi: Thank you! @Marie: Merci, Marie. @Sandra: Merci beaucoup, Sandra! |
