Too much light... is to be taken as a gift. I feel as if I were there. I savour it.

@k@: I was squinting into this scene with warm sunlight kissing my face, and life was every bit the gift I know it to be as often as possible. Thanks for savouring, Karine !
What a beautiful scene Rick

@Doug: It certainly felt that way in person. Thanks a lot, Doug.
Great composition and I love the magical sparkly water!

@Mooie: I was taken by the starry sparkles across the two women kayaking, and wanted a shot of them alone but didn't get the opportunity. Too much traffic out there, just like the city streets :-) - thanks, Mooie.
Beautiful composition and great atmosphere !

@Mhelene: I think atmosphere over composition, but I liked it enough to share. Thanks a lot.
j'apprécie ce scintillement

The sun is brilliantly captured here, a thousand stars have fallen to the water, and the
couple in the boat are postured as in a magnificent painting. Beautiful !~ Perfection.

@Phil Morris: Kind feedback, always appreciated. I wanted the girls in the kayak to star in their own frame, but alas the opportunity wasn't presentable from my dockside vantage point as the ferry was pulling in. A beautiful day, though, with fresh breezes and many happy people enjoying nature.
Wonderfully romantic scene

@Nigel: I'm pleased that you feel it that way. Thanks !
fantastic compo! the light makes me want to laze out in the sun :))

@Abena: I love this time of a day, late afternoon into early evening light. It is dynamic and magical. My thanks.
Love the sparkling diamonds of light on the water!
20 Aug 2012 9:35am
@Stephen: I had precious few seconds to get this one, and didn't stop down the exposure the way I would have with more time, but the brilliance on the lake is a fairly accurate replication of what I saw. Summer ! Yeah...
Gorgeous! That sparkiling on the water just makes one want to be there. Fantastic image, Rick!

@Jason Politte: Nice to see you back around the site, buddy. Thanks a lot !
Going for the strong light and effect! And you did it! I like a lot the star shaped sparkles of light. At first I felt it was too busy, and later I find myself enjoying all the small details as the bird formations. I like it very much, Rick.
20 Aug 2012 10:58am
@Francisco Romero: Definitely the brilliance was my priority, and as mentioned above I wanted to isolate the kayakers but couldn't do it because of the traffic out there, so it is certainly a busy shot but in weighing it out, an accurate one as far as how Toronto hustles and bustles even on the water. Thanks a lot, Francisco.
I recognized the sky and cityscape and thought, "this must be Rick's," as I clicked into my next favorite's thumbnail. Love these scenes, the brilliant diamond light blanket of sun on the sea with those carefree boats in foreground. Adoration here.

@Joyce: I even managed to keep the CN Tower out of this one, ha ha... this is summer, right here. People in this part of Canada really love the warm weather months, probably because our winters lately have been endless boring slogs of little snow but lots of dull pavement and barren trees. The first warm days of March or April will invariably bring about clothing overreactions, and you'll see people running around in shorts and t-shirts when they probably ought not to be ;-)
Magnifique!!! j'adore++++ tu a aussi jouer avec le conte jour sur la mer!!!! j'aime++++

@Martine: Merci beaucoup, Martine.

The sparkling light on the water makes this image magnificent.

@Ruthiebear: Thank you for the kind words !
I love it!

@Khashayar: Thanks for the nice comment :)
Wonderful composition Rick ! I like how the skyline is in the background and you have two boats in the foreground with a couple in the second boat enjoying the sun. You even caught the birds flying.
20 Aug 2012 7:53pm
@Irene: Thanks, Irene. Birds always seem to get into these shots, even if I'm not trying for them :)
Beautiful sparkles on the water, Rick. Ah!

@LauraS: I like that "Ah!" : thanks !
Looks like sparkling stars on the water ... Nice shot of this wonderful scene !!!

@Baldwin VW: Thanks for the nice feedback :))
This is definitely a savory summer scene, Rick, and the sun sparkles are magnificent. You are relishing the last few weeks of your Canadian summer, while we in Florida are struggling with the heavy humidity and heat that will probably go on until late October. I will try to send you another month of summer; how's that? ;D
21 Aug 2012 1:56am
@Judy aka L@dybug: Sounds great, Judy. We have beautiful weather up until about the end of September before temperatures start to dip, but sometimes we have nice weather right up 'til Halloween. Maybe I'll ask for that month of summery weather round about October first !
Great light! Love the 5 birds flying together in the top right hand.

@Ryan Hammond: Thanks a lot, Ryan !
