@L'Angevine: J'ai des photos avec beaucoup d'autres dans le cadre. C'était incroyable. @Doug: Some of the terms are "lek", "swarm", "rabble"... I rather like "rabble", though I took pains not to become a rabble rouser in these meadows ! Thanks a lot, Doug. @Mhelene: Thanks very much. They were uncountable within some of the trees, almost as many as there were leaves ! @Enzo: Une telle grande distance pour les petites ailes! Merci beaucoup ! @Mireille T.: Thanks very much. The light was diminished due to overcast skies, and that aided in capturing good colors for most of the shots. I'm glad you like it ! @tataray: Merci beaucoup ! @Anthony Morgan Lambert: Especially appreciated when I can see this even though I live in a big city. Thanks for having a look ! @Florence: Very pleased that you like it, dear. Thanks ! @B. Thomas: Thanks a lot, and I love your foxes picture for today. @Martine: Merci beaucoup : Je profiter de vos photos. Ravie de vous revoir parmi nous! @maurizio jaya costantino: A great word and feeling : thanks ! @Slackwater - Don: Glad to share it : thanks, Don. @franz: Wonderful feedback and kindness toward the little long distance travellers ! If you ever visit my city, perhaps you will time it for late August and early September, for your own chance to stand chest high in meadow growth and Monarchs ! @Lydia.Dd: Thank you for having a look at them ! @Mina: I'm glad : thanks ! @Denise: Happy to share and know you like it : thank you ! @Rafael: Thanks, and yes... I don't know how they do it ! @Anna.C: Thanks very much, Anna. Have a nice evening and upcoming new week ! @omid: Thanks for the compliments ! @Ruthiebear: Thanks for the great feedback ! @RBL: Being there amongst them in person is verging on the surreal. Thanks a lot ! @Ralph Jones: Thanks, Ralph. @Judy aka L@dybug: I always strive to get my shots and put the camera down so that I can be truly there, soaking it all up. Ha ha, when I first got into the whole DSLR thing about four years ago, I took pictures of everything. It started to feel like it wasn't "real" until I photographed it. All a part of an obsessive learning curve process ;-) Thanks, Judy. @Irene: Thanks for looking :) @k@: All of this from what was just a landfill site where construction rubble is dumped all week. @Stephen: Incredible creatures, to undergo such a mind blowing metamorphosis and undertake that kind of journey when they migrate. Thanks ! @Gérard Beullac: Much easier to photograph when the sunlight isn't at full power. @Francisco Romero: Very glad you like it ! @Tinx: Thanks for dropping by to see them :) @Mowgli: In these massive meadows that are off the beaten bicycle and jogging paths, I was all alone with the butterflies. An incredible visit and sense of space with a very big city all around but feeling so distant. Thanks ! @Mooie: So happy to share it, cheers ! This isn't from this year : I tried on three occasions to time my cycling visits for this event, and kept missing it. Next year I'm vowing to make a nice movie of it all, especially long range wide angle views that show just how many of these butterflies are out there. @Babzy: Yes, they make humans look rather predictable and ordinary ;) Thanks for the comment ! @Baldwin: Very good of you, Baldwin : thanks ! Well, I certainly don't know and have never known the criteria recipe, so I'll just be humble and thankful once again and call it a true surprise, again ! The second that I begin to try to take "Spotlight" pictures will be the precise moment that I completely lose the joy of taking pictures :) @Tede: Merci pour le commentaire très agréable, Tede. @Ruthiebear: Thanks very much. I'm going to hand it to the butterflies, for all of their hard work in looking so pretty and then flying thousands of kilometres. @Mireille T.: Thanks a lot, Mireille. @omid: Thanks ! @Moein: I thank you ! @Enzo: Merci beaucoup, Enzo. @Judy aka L@dybug: That is very good of you, Judy : thanks a lot ! @Denise: Merci beaucoup ! @john4jack: Thanks, Jack. @Sin Banoo: I love your reaction : thanks for looking ! @SharonPleasants: Thanks for the super nice comment, Sharon. @Learning Soul: The camera allows us to share in ways that were once unimaginable. I'm glad you like the picture, and thanks! @Sophie: Merci beaucoup. @Aubélia: Thank you. @Florence: Thanks a lot, Florence :) @tataray: Merci. @Dimitrios: I am fortunate to live where it happens yearly. Thanks for looking. @Stephen: Very good of you to say, Stephen. Thanks. @Martine: Merci beaucoup. @Ann: Thanks ! @Mhelene: Thank you ! @Eric C.: Merci ! @Willem: Much appreciated, Willem. @Ana Lúcia: Thanks for dropping by to look. @Elaine Hancock: Thanks a lot, Elaine. @franz: Always a classy person, franz, and I thank you ! @Loretta: Kind words, Loretta : thanks a lot. @Christine: Thanks you, Christine. @M.Mostafa: Thank you. @Devi: Thank you for the visit and comment, Devi. @glenn: Thanks a lot, glenn. @LauraS: Thanks a lot !
