Within the lush enfoldment of Vancouver Island's Goldstream Park, seemingly miniaturized humans wander the scenery.

Ah, yes, that special sense of scale . . and Time.

@Ronnie 2¢: Some of the old growth behemoths on the island are in excess of a thousand years of age. I respect that a great deal. Thanks, Ronnie.

an overawing scale to this wonderful woodland shot

@grouser: To stand within it is to stagger the mind. I took many photos of this hike and not one comes close to truly capturing the experience... though that won't stop me from posting more of them. Thanks mister g.

Wow!! The people definitely add a great sense of scale here! The cascading waterfall stands out nicely against the iridescent greens of the forest.

8 Dec 2016 5:02pm

@Steven: This beautiful old growth park is protected and very popular, only a very short drive out of the city of Victoria. I'll share more shots in future; thanks for the feedback.

Ruthiebear from Titusville, NJ, United States

I am glad you included the people to give me an idea of just how large this scene is. The waterfall is stunning.

8 Dec 2016 6:14pm

@Ruthiebear: Thanks, Ruthie. The waterfall actually climbs up far beyond the top of this frame. I'll show more of it again sometime.
