It is that time of year, Autumn, before the snows and cold temperatures arrive. The squirrels are trying to fatten up and this crow is lurking for an opportunity to commit grand apple larceny.
Ah !! A false sense of camaraderie here !!! The crow is literally waiting in the wings :)) The squirrel looks cute !!!! A great find :)))))

@Devi: Thank you and I'm glad you like it. I have several frames of these two, because they actually began to fight over the apple, but for now will share just this one.

@Hiro: All these little struggles that take place every moment of every day, often out of our vision. Thanks, Hiro.
Cute scene of wild life ! A lot of squirrels in the parks of cities and Canadian forests !

@Anna Cherer: Thanks, Anna. Yes... we are nearly overrun with squirrels especially in Toronto. I see lots of visitors freaking out over the black specimens that we have, and only when I began to post pictures of those one on Aminus a few years ago did I realize they are not common throughout the world.
Beautiful as the fable of The Fountain " the fox and the crow "

@Ruthiebear: Thanks a lot. They were both moving a lot in the frames and these images required some post processing to clean them up a bit.
The crow is not afraid of the squirrel, so he will likely get the apple before long. Nice shot.

@Mhelene: Thanks a lot.
A carpet of beautiful autumnal colors that you've captured here!! I am surprised that the squirrel wasn't a bit more protective of his find. I had to chuckle at what you said in your narrative. :-)

@Steven: I watched a drama unfold in which the crow made several attempts to wrest the apple away from the squirrel, but ultimately the squirrel prevailed. I'll post more of these at some future point, perhaps a Silly Tuesday collage. Thanks !
I wonder of the squirrel is aware of the crow.

@Irene: They had a little battle over the apple, and the squirrel lost it momentarily but ultimately prevailed. Thanks, Irene.
I did not know the black specimens before seeing them in Toronto. They are not very cute indeed ! My son do not like them and finds that they look like rats )) I prefer clearly these sort of cute squirrel !

@Anna Cherer: Ha ha... they do resemble rate, which are plentiful here as well. When they fatten up for Winter they are less rat-like, but I prefer the cute grey ones and the less common red specimens that are here.
The struggle to survive.
A well captured moment.

@Graciel·la (Vic. Catalonia): Nature at its most honest, is an ongoing struggle. Thanks very much for your time in looking at several images here today.
