@Hiro: Pre migration masses of Monarch butterflies tend to be a bit more approachable.

grouser from Ludlow, United Kingdom

How on earth did you manage to tame it? Is it on drugs? :) Excellent capture

19 Nov 2017 12:40pm

@grouser: Let's hope the Monarchs are drug-free, ha ha. I managed two gentle wing strokes before it lifted off, thus it was a capture without a capture :)

Don from Spokane, United States

I like having the hand in the picture which gives us an idea of the butterfly's size. A fine close up.

@Don: Thanks, Don.

@Denny Jump: There are times when the wild things allow me to get close to them... maybe because *I* look like a wild thing, ha ha... sincere thanks, sir Denny!

k@ from Paris, France

A great poetry in the way you framed this too, in order to let the ideal space for the butterfly to leave !

20 Nov 2017 11:32am

@k@: Karine, you have a knack for seeing things precisely the way I intended them in the moment of framing a shot. I am always grateful for that, and for your feedback!
