Beautifully complicated !

20 Dec 2017 9:08am

@Hiro: That is a fine way to describe it; thanks a lot !

Anna Cherer from LA ROCHELLE, France

Excellent framing ! I also took photos of these incredible roots which run everywhere ! I like it !

20 Dec 2017 9:13am

@Anna Cherer: Thanks very much, Anna. This is a part of the Niagara Escarpment and the trails connect all the way to the Bruce Trail which runs up the Bruce peninsula and to Tobermory. The trees grow over thick limestone and other types of rock, and we see these exposed roots a lot. I love the ruggedness and wild appearance.

grouser from Ludlow, United Kingdom

The guy in front is in a bit of trouble, methinks he needs to get back to his roots. :) Nicely depicted shot of the tenacity of nature again even when a seed has fallen on stony ground. Cedars?

20 Dec 2017 11:03am

@grouser: Ha ha... he was so excited about his location near a river, he soiled himself! Thanks for the witty commentary and ROCK on, sir.

k@ from Paris, France

Like a hundred fingered vegetal hand. Gripping for sure, love the power felt !

20 Dec 2017 11:48am

@k@: If we could see the entire root system below, it would blow our minds. Many thanks, Karine.

Steven from Chicagoland, United States

Wow!! What an eye-catching find with this tree's revealing roots!! Excellent clarity and light captured in this shot.

20 Dec 2017 12:57pm

@Steven: I wanted to bring my Nikon on this walk, but for the first exploration I opted to travel light with the little Canon. It gives me good performance under optimal conditions. Thanks a lot, Steven.

Devi from Chennai, India

Great shot...But get away Rick...looks like these dangerous weird roots are out to grab you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

20 Dec 2017 1:34pm

@Devi: Luckily I escaped unharmed :-) Thanks, Devi.
