Look at that behemoth of a "spend until you drop" Xmas tree, towering in the Eaton Centre to such an extent I couldn't even fit it into the frame. I bought a book for my wife. That's right, a BOOK. "Ancient Trees : Portraits Of Time" by Beth Moon, filled with amazing photographs of the world's oldest trees. You see, Tamara and I are outdoors loving people, and quite the opposite of the mall faction. Unfortunately I had to enter this huge mall in order to access the book ;-p .... and this is where I saw this crazy "tree" and took note of the gigantic "reindeer" everywhere. What a message we focus on during this time of year, rather than the one we need to cherish. The one about being with loved ones, appreciating them for who they are, and being grateful. (not unlike Thanksgiving) Oh yeah, and for the Christians, recognition of the birth of Jesus. That's "Jesus", not Jesu$. So endeth my rant. I wish all of you who celebrate it, a safe and happy Holiday Season.

An amazing tree ! I understand what you mean Rick and I agree with you. I avoid these big shopping malls and crowd, especially during these holiday periods ! And except to make photos))
) I am sure that your darling Tamara will appreciate this book, I saw recently a T.V program on these oldest trees of the world, it was very interesting and magnificent!
Safe and sweet Xmas Eve to you and yours and happy Holliday Season !

That is a strange tree but it fits the mall experience quite well. I, too, avoid the mall almost completely.

I agree SO much and would be SO happy to receive the Yree book too. Hate what XMas became. In my famil7i proposed since 5 years now we buy gifts only for the 3 children. And that's much better this way around a good dinner altogether sharing love instead of $$$$ ;) Thanks for the thoughts here back to a human scale far from this monumental xmas not-tree ;)) Happy Love Times for you & yours dear Rick**
