Pardon the feeble attempt at a tongue twister title; my Tamara shares a love of trees with me, and here on a walk we see that the trees reciprocate that feeling ! ;-p
As a person who actually hugged the huge trees on Mears Island near Tofino, BC, I can agree with your title. Better to be a tree hugger than a chainsaw cuddler.

@Michael Skorulski: You are a kindred spirit. I adore Vancouver Island and have been there many times, including a wonderful stay directly across Mears in a dead-quiet A-frame called "Tranquility Base" just outside Tofino's main area. Of all the places I have visited and loved around the island, the Port Renfrew region has blown me away and haunted me the most. Avatar Grove's thousand year old behemoths brought tears to my eyes, and trust me, several were hugged! (lots of images scattered around in my archives here) Thanks for the great comment.
