The Running Of The Hounds...

... or "The Hound Has The Runs"... (a hilarious moment during Elora's annual event which is held every October. Happy ST !)

Michael Skorulski from Toronto, Canada

I enjoy the contrast of the elegance of the dogs and hunters compared to the drug store and it is funny to see the deposit which the dog is leaving behind.

@Michael Skorulski: Ha ha... your use of the word "deposit" makes me wish that was a bank building in the background.

Hiro from Kyoto, Japan

Happy ST !!

grouser from Ludlow, United Kingdom

He expresses my opinion of fox hunting with hounds perfectly : ) Excellent

@grouser: We agree on that and I'm glad that Elora's annual display doesn't involve the hunting portion. More about pomp becoming poop. Cheers !

Anna Cherer from LA ROCHELLE, France

Ha ! Ha ! Your humor missed me ;-) excellent scene !

6 Mar 2018 3:02pm

@Anna Cherer: This dog seemed to know that things shouldn't be taken too seriously. Thanks, Anna.

Joyce from Montana, United States

Ha! Leave it to a dog to keep things well,.. 'grounded,' and real. What an interesting view of the fox hunt idea on the concrete rather than scrambling over the hills and dales. Fun frame play.

6 Mar 2018 3:54pm

@Joyce: The town runs the hounds and horses through a very pretty back street route, then down one of the main streets and over the river. These images were from three years ago when I first attended this, purely out of curiosity and to take a few pictures, and of course I was DELIGHTED by this dog's "break from the rank and file", ha ha...

Shoppers Drug bold red adds a subtle tension to me.

6 Mar 2018 3:56pm

@Joyce: Yep; it's a two hundred year old village with most of its heritage architecture intact, so any modern signs tend to be glaring. The Shoppers Drug Mart chain is actually pretty decent, but I think in an old town that prides itself on that postcard movie set look, the sign should look like something from the 1800s.

Steven from Chicagoland, United States

What a cute story behind this hilarious shot!! Happy Silly Tuesday!

6 Mar 2018 4:56pm

@Steven: Hilarious shot and also hilarious sh*t ! Thanks, Steven.
