Dancing in the Street

My Toronto neighbourhood is named Cabbagetown, in homage to the many Irish immigrants who arrived during the 1800s. They had gardens that featured cabbage, among other crops. These days, so many decades later, Toronto benefits from being one of the most multicultural cities in the world, and I love seeing so many expressions of that. I had to crop this shot to eliminate a lot of foreground clutter.

A great action shot showcasing culture of the neighborhood. I love that the spectators remain in view showing the interest the performers create.

Love Hindu dancing most of all, perfect form expressive of high spiritual inner stuff. :-D So free with color and decore. Love the drums. I understand it is of the oldest cultures, which I respect. What wonderful celebration of all elements.

Excellent image Rick.
Throughout the years things change. In the Latino part of San Francisco gentrification is going on. In the 40's and 50's that part of town was predominately Irish Catholic. Actually the whole city has changed and there are lots more traffic.
