A Tale Of Two Men

I was enjoying a vacation stroll around downtown Victoria B.C. when this scene presented itself to me and broke my heart a little. Two very different outcomes for men of a similar age. The sign for "Keys Cut" only added poignance, for it is safe to assume that one of these men has no door to lock or unlock.

A familiar scene, sadly . .

Sad reality in a lot of streets even here. Good docu style in strong contrasted b/w.

Overexposure and contrast further harden the scene !

Your comment on this image say's it all. It is easy to look down on the homeless, but they all have a story to tell. They alone know why they live like they do so we must never judge them, but just try to remember they are people. A powerful image Rick. 5*

A common sight that will become more common I fear. More and more manufacturing is being done by robots. I thought retraining of displaced workers would help solve the problem. I just read that many such people don't have the educational preparation to complete the training.

In this country, some well known fear mongering politicians want to blame immigrants for all the unemployment problems. At the same time, they do their best to dismantle the social safety net built up over decades. So, I'm fairly pessimistic.

Thanks to you, Rick, for not allowing the homeless to slip into invisibility.
